Best Tasting Water Contest

BEST TASTING WATER CONTEST- NEW THIS YEAR!

 

Think your utility has the best tasting water in South Carolina? Here’s your chance to prove it!

Bring a sample of your utility system’s potable water and let our panel of “expert” judges decide whose water tastes the best.

The contest will be held Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 5:30 – 6:30pm in the Exhibit Hall.

 

Submission criteria are as follows:

Samples must be in one-liter, clear glass, narrow-mouth bottles with removable labels.

·         A total of 2 liters of potable water drawn from the organization’s distribution system must be submitted.

·         Bottles must be previously unused, sterilized, rinsed with sample, filled and capped with no headspace.

·         Samples should be kept on ice or refrigerated at 4 degrees Celsius and accompanied by a Chain of Custody.

·         Samples must be clearly marked with utility/organization name on all bottles, coolers and boxes using tags or removable tape. Do NOT use permanent markers to label bottles. Samples marked with   permanent marker will be disqualified.

·         Systems submitting samples must be in compliance with all state and federal regulations.

 

Samples should be delivered to the Registration Area at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center by 12pm (noon) on Sunday, March 14, 2010. Empty coolers/containers should be retrieved from the Registration Area no later than 4:30pm Monday, March 15, 2010. Unclaimed containers will be discarded.

 

Samples will be at room temperature at the time of the tasting. Awards will be presented for first, second and third place.
